Mission: “Through collaboration with the entire learning community, our mission is to instill problem-solving skills in our students that will translate to a rapidly changing global environment.”
Vision:
“Excellence in Teaching, Opportunity Through Learning.”
Uinta 4 is committed to providing a Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum so that all students learn at high levels. A Guaranteed Curriculum is one that ensures that each student has access to effective teachers as well as access to the same content, knowledge and skills. A Viable Curriculum ensures that students have been allowed enough time to learn the guaranteed curriculum.
Uinta 4 has defined the Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum through the Professional Learning Community (PLC) Process. All grade levels and content areas have identified power standards and unpacked the standards into essential skills. (You may view the identified Power Standards by clicking on the sub-page navigation links.) These are the skills all students must know in order to be successful at the next level. Teams of teachers develop common assessments based on these identified standards. Following the administration of these common assessments teachers meet to identify which students need additional time and support. Title One, Special Education, and all other support staff are flooded into the classroom to provide timely support for any and all students demonstrating a need.
Four Essential Questions of the PLC Process
- What do we want our students to learn?
- How will we know if they have learned?
- What will we do if they don’t learn?
- What will we do if they already know it?
